I stumbled across this site about a year ago and have used it for the great info you guys post. I figured its time to give back and post what I'm working on. Its not a cross country exploring type of build, more for trips up to northern MI and a reliable daily driver. Its a 1998 Dodge 2500 QC S/B 4x4 with a 12V cummins. It has 230K miles. D60/D70 w/ powrlok diff, NP 241 DHD t-case, and HTS built trans.

I'm about halfway "done" with It so ill catch you guys up to where I am now..
Here's the day I bought it...

Truck prepped for bedliner. After a lot of searching I ended up using a product called Raptor Liner. I did the bumper, lower part of the body, inside door jams & footstep, and underside of the truck..

I ended up re-coating everything again because it was two thin and you could see streaked. I lowered the psi on the regulator and it made the texture rougher looking like line x.

Yesterday I took a winter cover that was for my old duramax bumper and cut it down and attached it to my grill. I wasn't getting the best heat on real cold days..

Heres a pic of the mudflaps I made out of semitruck flaps that actually cover my 35" tires..

I found a nice set of power heated leather seats at a u-pull junk yard. They let me leave with seats and all the matching trim pieces including door panels for just over $100. While I had it all apart I put down a bunch of sound deadner and also replaced the carpet with polyvinyl rubber...

Here's a better pic of the rubber floor and you can also see my re-chargeable mag light mount and posi-lock cable for the front axle..

The truck originally had an open rear carrier so I tracked down a Dana 70 with the orginal powrlok carrier, rebuilt it, cleaned it up and swapped it in..

I'm sure I'm missing something but that's about all I can think of right now.

Looks great, can't wait to see more. I'd be interested to hear how that Raptor liner holds up.

Nice truck I like where you're headed with it

Back when I was looking for one I remember thinking that it would be easier to find a unicorn than a 98 quad cab 12V :coffeedrink:

How much difference did the sound deadner make? I am thinking of do this on my diesel.

Shawn

It was night and day difference, I should have done it the day I bought it. It silenced every little vibration rattling noise, and it sounded like a put a muffler on the 5" straight pipe. It also made a big difference in the stereo quality. The best way to describe it is that its like riding in a new truck that is nice and quite and everything feels real tight and sound
