Which Truck/Suv to Choose?

Hello All!
I'm new to the overland community but not the budget friendly camping/wheeling rig community. As my family continues to grow (15 month old, another on the way) I am looking for a light duty overland vehicle for weekend wheeling and camping. This will not be my daily driver. I love the fj80's but most seem out of my price range (overpriced?). I am looking to spend about $7000 on the vehicle and build over time. Low mileage is a plus as I have some mechanical skills but I'm not doing any engine swaps. I'm considering T100's, older Tundra's, a double cab tacoma(out of my price range but I can dream), LC's, Montero's, etc. Please pass on any recommendations, experiences, thoughts...
Thanks!

For 3-5k you can get a nice Trooper and leave a ton of room for upgrades. (depending on area)

Your best option is to use the search function or just read through the pages of the Other Vehicles or General Modification areas. There are tons of threads already dedicated to helping choose your vehicles. Pros, Cons, Costs of these vehicles are all covered!
