My brother, my buddy Gary, and myself decided to head up to the Gila River the night of the 3rd to campout and do some fishing. We left after work on Tuesday and got to the river at around 7:30pm only to find our spot occupied and a dry river... >
Sunset on Cochran Rd.
We did some exploring and found another spot that was even better. On the way in we were spotlighting the cliffs and saw three ringtail cats. I tried like hell but couldn't get any good pics of them.
There was actually a few pools of water. We tested this one out and had a cat on the line within 2 minutes so we stayed and fished this hole all night with good luck.
Wednesday morning we wandered downstream and found another pool to try out...no luck here. We did scare a coyote pup out bushed along the way though.
Our campsite on the dry river bank.
Explored some offshoots on the way back out.
Weather got more ominous on the way home.
We ran into some massive storms coming back into town. We stopped at the CDO wash and watched the water start to flood the road.
Less than 10 minutes later.
