Hi Stu
Never. Love it. Plenty to see. Always heaps of eagles and wildlife. Wrong time of year now for the whales ...... and how's the scenery coming down that Eucla Pass. Wish I had the time for a surf down at Cactus too....just at the start of the Bight cliffs in from Penong. A certain person I know holds the world land speed record in the hire car class set on the salt flats behind Cactus. Hahaits a dead boring run though
Re: travelling out of Perth.
Man, there's some awesome coast when you get a few hours up above Perth too.....Cervantes, Greenough, Drummonds Cove, Bowes River, Lucky Bay, Zuytorp Cliffs, Kalbarri, Red Bluff on Quobba Station, Gnarloo Station.....fish galore.
John.

Hey john
im taking notes
funny thing is weve been here 2 years and have been working 5 days a week but never managed to actualy get out and see much
we take the strom away every month and see some of the country but always end up in a country pub and thats the end of me (i like country pubs)
as far as the truck goes it hasnt managed to many miles over the past couple of years - an 07 model and it hasnt topped 40K yet which is good in some ways but pretty sad if you think about it
but things will change
My apologies to all you guys slaving away at work
this is fowlers camp just outside of Denham (Shark Bay) WA
a lovely spot where the temperature hasnt dipped below 30 all week
we are 4 months in and so far only moved about 3000k's
once again "sorry"
Some how i don't believe you!
[B]WHAT PRICE A FISH DINNER ?[/[/SIZE]B]
pulled up in Gladstone for a couple of days, camped right next to the water but unfortunatley it didnt lend itself to fishing from the shoreline
but the dragon likes the idea of fresh fish for dinner
so off with the boat
(gladstone) camp.jpg
this is achieved by firstly off loading the bike
rolling the tinnie off the roof
remove the inflatable (thats the blue bag and weighs just short of 35kg)
unload the outboard and fuel tank
then the hardest part of all pull everything out to get to the boats gear
all this in mid 30's
luckily i caught dinner, and it was so good we stayed for a week ended up eating fish every night
makes it all worthwhile
its a great spot and id recommend it to anyone passing through
(gladstone) bay from pier.jpg
Mt Augustus and the Kennedy Ranges
the roads are a tad on the choppy side due to last years floods but the drive was well worth it
Hi Stu,
Great scenery! I always love the deep red of the soil and blue of the sky in outback photos.
Anthony
anthony
me too these places are absolutley awesome at sunrise and sunset - this is mt augusta at sunset
WRT the deep red soil
the 6 hours it took to clean the truck of said deep red soil kinda makes it all worth while![]()
Stu , Where are you now? Heading South from Gladstone or still in the West?
Photos look great. Thanks for posting.
Regards John
