Just to clarify, the Safari Overland Camper is only a concept. Jeff has made some parts and assembled a prototype, but it's currently only a cool idea. Here are a few other sketches on the concept that Jeff has done.

It was designed to fit on a modified HF trailer frame, this is true. However that DOES NOT mean you have to use a HF trailer frame. The whole concept Jeff came up with is an AFFORDABLE DIY trailer kit. Over on jeepforum you would see than Jeff intentionally only modified the trailer frame a little as a proof of concept. If a guy (or gal) has any imagination at all, the builder could build/modify the kit to survive any conditions.

NOW the big question to anyone wanting to discredit Jeffs idea.....

Do you know of a cheap/moderate, bare bones, trailer, that this kit could be based on, that doesnt come with unessisary stuff that you will have to remove?

Consitering the needs of the concept, the harbor frieght trailer kit is the only and best option that is widely available and cheap.

Anyone who has owned a jeep CJ, YJ, TJ can tell you that cargo space is almost non existant, Jeff has come up with a $1000 +/- solution for the DIY crowd.
DIY being the key here, as the owner can build it as he/she sees fit.

Well if this works out, it will keep me from building something similar from scratch. Very interested to see the various options and prices
