Fridges - How did you mount yours?

..Post pictures of how you mounted yours here.

..I am looking for ideas on how to mount mine in the rear of an SUV (by the side door), and also in the bed of a truck but trailer mounts will work too..First thought is to strap it with the seat folded down...But where to strap it to? Someone has had to already been creative on this idea..:coffeedrink:

..It doesn't matter if yours is on a trailer, a boat, or a toy hauler...let's see how it's mounted.

..I'm trying to figure out how to strap mine down without getting into installing an E-Track or a slide..yet...:safari-rig:

My Patrol came with 4 factory tie down points so I just use a turnbuckle from one to the handle and another one on the back to my cargo barrier. Simple and effective.

Will be getting a slide soon though

It would help if you told us what vehicles you are working with as each vehicle has its own mounting options. Most vehicles should have attachment points for things like infant car seats. Those are strong and reliable choices for this purpose. If you need to make attachment points, are you willing to drill holes--what are your specific criteria and limitations? What fridge do you have too?

Cheers,
Greg

...This is a "General" thread to acquire visual aid to generate ideas from..:D

...As does each vehicle have mounting points, each fridge or desired location for each fridge creates new challenges for mounting them..The use of a slide or fridge mount would be easy..

..I know many have gotten creative when they first got their fridge's or trying to find the best spot in the new truck/trailer/rig for it to reside...Others have went beyond just straps and came up with what suits their truck best..

Everyone says they have a fridge mounted, but how is it mounted?
...I'm hoping members will post up pictures of how they mounted their fridge's in all types of vehicles whether it be permanent or temporary..Even the good, the bad, and the ugly..

..Any and All options accepted..;)

Engle Slidelock mounted to the back of the rear seat which is folded down 100% of the time.

..That's what we are looking for..:D

..Did you always have the slidelock and was that your first choice for mounting location?

I used the Slidelock from the beginning, but my first choice of mounting was back aft.
After I got back into camping again after a decade or so away from it, I then moved the fridge behind the seat which opened up a lot more room for the camping gear.

I served up ice cream bars to the masses on this outing below.

I have a storage/sleeping system in the back that is bolted down to the bed. I just used turnbuckles and small d-rings to secure the fridge to a sliding shelf.

It would be nice to see some pictures of your current set up before you get a slide..:D

..and I did notice that Corey added a "lid mod" to his fridge...I was going to post a link to that mod for someone but I can't find it now..:(

I'm hoping someone who uses the slide-lock can comment for me:

It sounds like the fridge is locked in with a catch. Would you feel safe mounting the fridge so the "open" part of the foot "grabbers" faced FORWARD? I see most people mount them facing rearwards, but I don't know if that's just because people tend to mount the fridges in the rear of vehicles or if that catch isn't rated to keep the fridge from moving forward in an accident.

I mount my fridge in my van behind the driver's seat currently. Due to how my lower bunk bed deploys, I have to un-strap the fridge and slide it forward (after sliding the driver's seat forward). I kind of like the idea of being able to just unlock it from the slide-lock to move it forward, rather than mess with the straps, etc., but in order for this to work, I'd have to mount it such that unlocking the fridge would be to slide it FORWARD.

Thanks much.

..Herbie..Some pictures of your current set-up may help others too in the future..:D

..I have seen a couple custom build lock downs and slides on here..I'm hoping we can get them to post up also and would like to also see a bunch of strapped down fridges too..
