I've been neglicting it for a while now so it was time for a updated look. Always loved the look of H2's and a 35" tire. So I picked up a cheap set of chrome h2s and routered out the center of the H2 rims to the 4.77" to fit the dodge hubs and modified my stock 2nd gen center caps to fit. Picked up a new set of 315/70/17's BFG At's. A Very nice looking package.

Been wanting to build a front bumper for it for a long time. In my scrap pile I had a rusty, dented and yellow push bumper from a State Highway Ford Tow Truck. After a few hours of beating out the dents with a hammer and torch, trimmed the bumper up a bit and making new mounts to fit my dodge, it got to this point.

Too Narrow and too tall. After more chopping, adding a 10K winch plate, some duplicolor bed armour for a nice rugged finsh I ended up with this.
Finshed Product.

Once the money tree re grows I'll pick up a winch and cut out the opening for the winch fairled.

In the end I want a all around rig. That performs tow duty, family duty, and will get me out to the middle of no where and back. So hopefully I'll keep this thread growing with more cool things in the near future.

The next thing I need to address is more storage for when we go camping. When the wife, our 2yrs old and choch lab go away camping for the weekend it fills the cab and the bed. I'm look towards a chase type rack or ladder rack to help with storage. Ive had a bed cap and absolutly dont want another one.

Thanks
Rick

Cool and welcome. Nice to see another 2nd gen Ram being built up. Keep up the good work.

BTW, how heavy did that bumper end up weighing?

Thanks guys.

Expomike, its fairly lite. As it sits, around 130lbs. The skin is 1/8", uprights for the winchplate and mounts are 3/8" and the actual mounts are 1.75" 1/4" sqaure tube.

Looking good! One of my favorite trucks. I hear you on caps. I have a love/hate thing going on with them...

Yes, I fought the wandering steering and its still not 100%. I have the steering box brace and I did the Delrin Bushing in the end of the steering colum. There's still another bushing further up the colum that is not serviceable.

Little update.
Did a sidejob for a buddy who never has cash, so he traded me his 3year old Warn 9k Winch for a few hours worth of work. Got that installed, a couple junk lights to complete the look and a Quick connect for jumper cables. I also use the Quick Connect for the winch, saved some wiring.

Also, I said above I'd never go back to a Cap. I lied. Ive stripped the bed down today of the toolboxes and headache rack. Sanded down the Utility Cap and threw on 3 coats of Rustoleum Bed Liner. I'll hopefully have some pics this weekend. This will have to double as my work truck for my Sidework and my Camping/Expo rig.

Also in the last few months I had a sweet custom tire carrier in place of the tailgate. Removed it because I keep loosing things out the back, little things like empty 5ga buckets! But it was built to hold a 35" tire the way its pictured or up to a 40" tire if the rack is flipped around. Its For Sale if any 2nd Gen Dodge guy is interested!!!

Wow. Looks great. FWIW I think blacking out your wheels, grill and step bars would look really sharp. I really like that bumper.
