hey mate, if it takes you six whole hours, I think you need to practice a bit more, I volunteer my truck as a practice run with the other engine you have.
Joking aside, that means that it should be a relatively easy fit, cannot wait to see everything up and finished. I love this engine, I have a friend that has a Terrano back home that has this engine and it has been excellent for him. IMO these trucks will never win a race, but a nice, economical, torquey and reliable diesel is perfect for it. I think it is a great choice.

This is most excellent... I finally just sold of my 2004 Xterra and moved over to a 2011 Pro-4x simply because I had a hard time beating what they were willing to sell it to me for and what I was able to sell my old one for. That being said. I researched the diesels in Brasil quite a bit back around 2006 or so and they were all International units if I remember correctly running getrag transmissions.
I hope this swap is a COMPLETE success and I am very curious how things go with the electronics!

Jin I have debated getting rid of my xterra few times also and almost did a few times. Believe it or not my xterra has been a pain in my arse financially for almost most of my ownership, but we have a attachment to it that we just can't let go of. I would love to have a crew nissan/toyota 4x4, but I want to see what I can do with the xterra first. Who knows.. I may end up selling the xterra after to get a gen 1 frontier cc 4x4 short base, and do the conversion on it. Lucky for me I am considered an electronics guru in my workplaces; it is a cakewalk for me I suppose. As for the transmission in the brazilian units, I never could find out what they were. I want to make sure I also mention that parts availability is good from what I have found should I ever need anything.

Congrats.First time I have seen someone find any engine to throw in there, and get it done.I want one also.Start a business. You might be surprised how many would be lining up at your door.
I have thought about it but I don't know if I could make it affordable (cheap work yields cheap results and planning in my opinion). I still have the extra diesel/trans, so I may experiment that idea if someone wants a conversion done, but when I finish my personal conversion is when I will consider that idea. I have extremely high standards and expectations for myself, and if those are met I will sell the complete conversion to someone that wants to do it (preferably someone local). Don't kid me wrong or anything, but I love to do this as a business. I just wouldn't know how to start something like that.
