Flatbed installation on Ford F250

Forum member Dirtydog mounted a Ute Ltd. flatbed on a Ford F250 to create a space for a custom ATC camper. The flatbed installation is described on the Wander the West web site. Cost of the flatbed and installation was about $4500 in 2011. ( The custom camper was extra, of course.) Sale of the truck bed reduced the price by $750. Lots of information and photos here

Interesting tidbits: Dimensions of the flatbed for this truck are roughly 84 inches square. Standard Ute Ltd. flatbed for the F250 is 102 inches long. The height of the flatbed is about 4 inches higher than the floor of the pickup bed it replaces. Weight of the aluminum flatbed is about 475 lb, payload rating of the flatbed is 8000 lb.

The finished product is described in this thread on ExPo

Thanks for the link. I just swapped out a A.R.E. cap for a UTE Aluminum bed and will be making the swap within the next few weeks to our F250. Cant wait to do this and get it finished.

I'll be covering it in detail on our site www.everymilesamemory.com once it starts
