Default My first LR: 1995 Land Rover Discovery 5spd

I'm new to overlanding and offroading in general. I picked up a beautiful 1995 D1 5spd with 111k miles from Dale (Rovertrader) on 2/17/2012 and she's already seen some great riding. It has 3" RTE w/ castor correct F&R links, ext SS lines, BFG 255/85s, diff guards, fuel skid, HD steering bits, Magnaflow exhaust, LR rubber floor mats throughout, new headliner, windshield, brakes, etc.

Her she is all clean from just being picked up.

First weekend I had her, 2/19/2012, my fiance and I did some riding around WCU. We followed a paved road until the pavement ended and found some outstanding views, and even some fairly technical trails. Unfortunately I was too busy driving and she was too busy freaking out to take any pictures of those sections

Congrats!!! I'm trying to buy my buddy's 2002 disco 2 off him. We took it trail riding today and he let me drive it. I forgot how much fun a rover can be. Hope you enjoy it!!

My brother loved my Disco so much he had to join the Rover family, too. On 2/23/2012 he found this great looking 1995 RR County LWB with 2" OME lift and bumpers, rack. It got stuck in the parking lot the second day he had it but I was kind enough to change the starter for him where it sat. What are brothers for?

On 2/25/2012 I was helping my buddy work on his completely modded Sammi and decided to do a bit of offroading at his place to try out my flex. Not bad, eh?

Today, 2/26/2012, I did my first big off road trip, a pass through Putnam; a trail in northern Moore County, NC. Great climbs, technical passes and DEEP mud. A great day to ride!

Just trying out a different line and talking it through. No problems making it out.

Here was the final climb of the day, and it was a great one.

Instead of just riding out to the top, I decided to turn up the bank. It made it up this section without a hitch.

I tried going up a pretty steep section where it bottomed out before climbing back up and my hitch dug deep into the ground, not letting me make it up. But the LWB helped me up!

Here are some videos of the approach and the recovery.

When we got back, she looked pretty good. Those skinny BFGs kept her pretty clean, though.

When I got back from Putnam tonight, my brother and I decided to do a bit more riding. Well I found a spot with VERY sticky mud that sucked in my disco to the frame. Again it was LWB to the rescue.

Driving home tonight from a great day of riding, I discovered I had picked up a major death wobble at 55mph. It occurred after I buried the Disco and I had to be jerked to get out of the muck. Now to trouble shoot what I messed up when I was getting jerked out. Any advice? I've read through all of this thread and it covers a lot of possibilities.
