    Default Hwange Game Count

2012 - HWANGE NATIONAL PARK - 24-HOUR STATIC GAME COUNT
    WILDLIFE & ENVIRONMENT ZIMBABWE

Plans are ahead for this year’s static count in Hwange National Park on Saturday-Sunday (29-30
    September).
The count is conducted by volunteers who are stationed for a 24-hour period at a waterhole and count the
    animals which they see.

Just about anyone can sign up for this. The game count is done approximately the same time each year, around Full Moon. If you are planning a self drive in Africa, something like this is a great way to enhance your experience. This is an opportunity to meet Zimbabweans who are devoted to supporting wildlife and the environment in their country. Instead of a packaged itinerary, do something worthwhile. I believe there are some costs associated with this. Park fees and a membership to WEZ . I come across people who plan their holidays around game count each year.

Well said, Robbie. This is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to conservation and at the same time become immersed in wildlife activity, rather than grabbing glimpses on a short tour.
