M??? Build

Hey guys, great site and first post here! Been checking out the trailer section for a few months and liked the m100/ 416 builds I seen and decided to build one of my own.
I found a m100 a few miles away in January and picked it up. The previous owner did a spring over, started some body work and a couple other things. I got it home, started looking at it and decided to pull the tub. It was already missing the floor, front lower sides were rusted through and the back was chopped up from the addition of a tailgate. Felt a little guilty taking it off but whatcha gonna do. Good thing is that our shop has a nice brake and my boss gave me whatever sheet metal I wanted that was in the outside storage. Found a good sheet of 16ga and it was enough to do the the new tub. Also found enough 16ga to make some decent fenders. So, long story short... I made a couple trips to the steel supplier, cut n welded it all up, took it to my brothers for paint and here's what I have today. Still have a few things to finish up. Hoping to have it done this weekend so I can take it on our overnight SAR training in a week. I better get busy!

Sweet work!
Like the receiver for the bike rack and the clean fab job you did.
What are the extra tubes on the top rack for?

Looks like you have a happy helper too!

Thanks guys! It's been a fun little project.
The extra tubes on the rack are sleeves to hold up the awning I'm making. Have a couple different lengths of 1/2" round pipe that slide through them. They can hold the awning at 8' at camp or rack height while traveling.

Ha! Thanks! Im hoping to load this thing up, head to Moab for week and do some riding later this year. If you're close to the Monterey/ Santa Cruz area, I can build up a rear bumper if you really want one. Really easy to make.

Very nice work. It is obvious you had some great help there. Looks like he keeps you in line. Moab is great, but have you ridden Virgin River Rim Trail near Navajo Lake. Fantastic ride, close to Rainbow Rim, north rim of Grand Canyon and Thunder Mountain, just outside of Bryce. Also Gooseberry mesa near St George.

Have fun.

I hate to say it but I have never rode anything different than my local trails. Ever been to the Sea Otter Classic? That's where I usually ride. Getting the itch to change it up and always heard about Moab. I will defiantly look into the trails you mentioned. Thanks for the suggestion! And yeah, I hot some excellent help! Lol! Good at QC! Oh, he turned 3 in dec and graduated from a coaster bike to a pedal bike today! Woohoo!!! Can't wait to hit the trails w/ him!

Looks like they are having a great time!
I would get a rear stabilizer leg just for safety.

Explaining to CYS that your kids got bruised up in the trailer might not fly.
