Thread: Fishing pole storage?

I love my Plano Rod tube. It's 4 1/2' in diameter and the length is adjustable. I like it because all my long items fit in it and can be acessed really fast. I keep two fishing rods in it. The crank and center awning suport for the Fiamma awning in it and since my 4x4 van is tall I screewed half a broom handle onto a hand pruning saw to reach limbs on the trail. It's just really nice to have all of that long stuff controlled and in one place. This is the one I have ( http://www.cabelas.com/fishing-rod-t...d-tube-1.shtml ) but I see they have revised it for air travel. http://www.cabelas.com/fishing-rod-t...d-tube-2.shtml

I use one of those gun racks you used to see in the back window of pick-up trucks. I mounted on the rear side window. it's strong enough to hold guns, so it will hold fishing rods with ease. If you have long surf rods you can hang the front part on your clothes hook. I'll post a pic later if you want.
