I have an existing truck cap and it has a old weathered center high mounted brake light...it's time to replace this light.
Option 1: Just to replace light...likely I'll go with a recessed LED unit. Easy and quick.
Option 2: Based on my use of a rear receiver motorcycle carrier at times...which with the MC partially blocks my OEM bed mounted turn/brake lights...I would like to upgrade my rear lighting. What I would like to do is mount a decent LED lamp assembly up high on either side of the camper body and have them function as combo brake and turn indicators - and no center mount brake light. I've see some nice aftermarket caps now and again that have this...and do NOT have a CHMSL. Is this DOT legal?
