I thought this was an April fools joke, but I guess not.

Disc brakes are now legal in cyclocross or soon to be, right? Do you see disc coming to road racing? At first I thought these might be good on the cyclocross bike I use for towing a trailer. The cantis are not up to the task on heavier loads but I don't see the 42mm tires I use fitting these brakes.

I remember, back in the day, when Ogg came out with the wheel. Everybody said the same thing... "What's wrong with dragging Bronto-ribs back to the cave?" And, "This stupid wheel is too complicated - it keeps falling over." Now look at where we're at.

Thanks Bike Mech. Seriously, when I first heard about these I thought it was a joke. To the posters above, these are not Disc stoppers. It's true, UCI finally gave in and green-lighted discs for 'cross, and there's been lots of chatter about discs on road bikes, but...... These are rim brakes. Go figure.
To make things even more entertaining, there are no levers currently to go with these. I assume they're releasing those at the same time. It's just silly. Who in the world would run hydro rim brakes on a road bike. It makes no sense what so ever. I put this in the top ten dumb developments in cycling. In fact, I put this above BioPace.

Well said. And I'm really happy to see Ogg doing well these days as the head of development for SRAM. I bet he loves it in Chicago.
I was talking to one of my buds who writes for a big magazine and he said it best, "SRAM is well known for making the world's worst mountain bike brakes. Now they plan to dominate the road market with the world's worst road brake."
Bicycles rule.
Re-reading my post I didn't make myself clear. My point is: Why bring these hydraulic rim brakes to market if we will be seeing disc brakes being approved for road competition. It seems putting time and money to make a better rim brake is just plan stupid if disc brakes are going to be allowed in the UCI.
Sorry for the confusion.
