You guys do know that REI is a big Sierra Club supporter and would love to see motorized vehicle access to your favorite trails banned, right?
Its great to buy at REI use something for season and if you don't like it or a new version comes out you can take it back!!
For some units, that's wholesale. Crazy, huh? Most of the Garmin units we sell at the store only fetch a 15-21% margin.20% off any 1 item!!! I have $200 in dividens plus 20% off will be a huge saving on the GPS unit I'm looking at!!
Agreed. Some people don't see such things as abuses of the spirit of their customer service policy. It is. As a retailer, we see it all the time. We had a guy return a 20 year old Patagonia jacket because it didn't "repel water." Patagonia gave him a new jacket and BECAUSE of that, this guy felt he was doing nothing wrong. Shameless. No free lunch!
The one who think like that are part f the reason that they price their items higher then competition.
I can understand returning an item that did not meet its advertise purpose or quality, but "updating" to a newer model, and returning it solely on this merit really bugs me..
Where are you guys seeing this? I want to look and see if it would apply to a new GoPro... But i'm not finding any info on the web.
