2013 G-Wagen at NY Auto Show

Mercedes will unveil the 2013 edition of the Gelandewagen at the New York Auto Show. For 2013, both the G550 and G55 AMG versions of the SUV will be available.

Mercedes accidentally released a photo of the 2013 G-Wagen in publicity photos of the 2013 GLK series, which is also being revealed at the show. No diesel for the G-Wagen in USA, but the GLK will have the 2.1L four cylinder diesel available, starting in early 2013.

Inside Line has a photo gallery of the 2013 G-Class, and the news that G55 will be replaced by the G63 AMG this Fall. The G63 is a twin turbo version of the 5.5L gas V8 found in the G550. AMG has the turbo V8 producing 536 hp and 561 lb-ft, just the ticket for putting the paparazzi in your rear view mirror. Price for the G63 has not been announced; I expect it to be around $120K.
