    Stripped it down heating the coating


    Necessary to wire wheel and hammer off the built up rust under that worthless coating. Painted with POR 15.



    And reinstalled it today!

    Nice work. Not sure if you know this but POR15 is not UV stable. If you don't top coat it with some other paint, it will turn gray and chalky.

    This. I have been HIGHLY unimpressed with POR-15 overall and especially it's lack of UV resistance. Better topcoat with something good...

    And it will happen *fast*. Don't delay in topcoating it.
