Daily driver power

Hello again,

I was thinking of ways to provide 120V power off "the grid" and came up with what I think is a pretty good set-up for the weekend/vacation warrior. My main motivation was the desire to not drill holes in my vehicle.

I haven't ever seen something like the following, so I thought perhaps someone in a similar situation would benefit. I imagine the more crafty members will come up with smoother/better designs. I will likely go through several versions, but I'll give this a shot until it requires upgrading.

I started with one plastic "SUV box" and one 800W power inverter. This particular model includes a remote station that has one USB jack and two traditional 115V outlets. My disclaimer: I have not yet finished the edges, so what you see is still the "prototype".

I'm also going to probably change out the alligator clips for something a little bit more secure (and less likely to touch :Wow1:)

Let me know what you guys think!

I should also add, I did it this way so it would be very easy to remove in the event (ie most of the time) I did not require the inverter.

Thanks, alpha! Since these photos I have ordered (but not yet received the rocky road sliders and GM undercarriage skids) It wouldn't be visible, but I also just ordered an E-locker... I'm excited...my wallet is not. :)

If I had to do it again, I would look harder and find an adventure model. BUT I love mine, and it wouldn't be worth the trade hit.
