The “road of life” in Leningrad.

The 27 of January is an important day for the all Leningrad-born townsman.
In this day in 1944 the Leningrad blockade took off.
It starts in 8-th of September 1941, after Schlüsselburg lodgement by Nazi.
It was a lost land way from Leningrad to the “big earth”.
Only Ladoga lake could help them.
The transportation was very hard, cause of constant bombardment.
The winter in that time was very cold.
We can’t imagine how it was.
No food…
No warm…
Constant bombardment…
The death and destruction around…
But you have to do your job, hope and trust that this hell will finish!
You can read about it in Wiki.
It was a terrible time for the people who lived in Leningrad.
Most of them die of hunger, and bombs of Nazi.

I decide to pay the tribute to the memory, and pass this way.

We have to remember, that all wars are horrible and immoral!

Thank you for the tragic history and photos. Very, very moving. It was only a blink of time ago. Man's inhumanity to man breeds death and misery but also breeds courage and fortitude.
