Working on putting a Kayak system on the trailer, also another bike rack. Headed out Wednesda to Sedona Fest and then on to Colorado for a few days in the woods. Going by myself this time so will be quite laid back. Will try to get pictures to you as I go. Be out about two weeks I think

Thanks guys... yes, the more I work on it the more I am liking the way it is turning out. I am supposed to haul it to a 4x4 Show and Grime (Westshore 4x4 in Victoria) next weekend... hopefully it is done by then? Today I got the 7 pin wiring box and the cable installed, and reattached the data plate. Now all that is left to get it road worthy again is to get the lights wired up and the side markers back on. Oh and maybe actually attach the lid too...lol. Need to check the wheel bearings too, one needs an adjustment as it is a wee bit loose.

I also put on the new rear shocks yesterday too. Napa Response over the counter, 15 minute install...and the old ones were pretty shot too. They look very...blue. Should be on the road this week!!

I picked up 2 x 2000# screw adjust landing legs for side to side support, weld on style and removable while underway...50% off, only $22.00 each. Also picked up 2 x gas struts for lifting the lid. I think they are 100 pound each? Hard to tell, and not a lot of info online? 175# RTT and a 50# lid, should be ok...if not they are returnable, and they had TONS in stock in various sizes.

Oh and more ring terminals to complete my light wiring, which I need to do ASAP, Jeep and 4x4 show this weekend!!

Default Got a little gas this week!

Received the 1 x 2 tube end caps and I am very happy with how they look.
I got a little gas today via a 2 1/2 Gallon Blitz Jerry Can I won off ebay.
I took it and the holder to work this week and pounded out the small dents, sand blasted both and got the painter
Thanks Don to spray some primer on them until I get the red and black top coat shot on them.

They will be mounted on my M116 trailer.

    ^ looks nice.

Wired up my Grote replacement turn/tail lights tonight. PITA as the color coded wiring from the plug and the trailer side were, um different! Busted out the multimeter and confirmed all Jeep Side connections, the redid the plug end to match the junction box. In the end it was an hour and a half I could have spent on other things, but they work great!!

All my parts are assembled for the final push to finish phase 1 of the "Resale Red Trailer Resurrection". So much paint on this thing, should last for years!!

Greg: Did you have to switch wired in the tail light housing?

On my red trailer, I spent an hour trying to get the lights to work, Checked one red wire and switched it to anouther spot A,B,C,D,E.
and it worked great. I did blow several turn signal fuses on the truck too.

Nope... I used the 7 pin harness that was already in the Jeep, and simply wired the plug end (trailer cable male end) to match the results of my testing. the colour coding on the plug no longer matches the box, but I will never remove the end so it is not an issue unless I loose my diagram.

Works great and no blown fuse! I read that I may need to use a converter (diode) as the lights I have on now are one set of lights that do all functions (running/turn/brake) and I have separate turn and brake/running lights on the Jeep. Apparently it is either built into the board on the LED lights, or what I read is simply wrong...it all works.

Oh and I added some side markers too, trying to keep it all legal (even if my tires do stick out like 3 inches!!
