New Mr Heater LP Hot Water Heater

Used mine over the weekend on a quick overnighter. It worked great. Easy to set up and gets hot fast. I did not use it as a shower, but it was nice to have it as a kitchen hot water supply. I need to get a military water can as the pump does not fit into the front runner. I am not happy with front runner 5gal can anyway. Lance had a great idea of a bucket to catch the used water for putting out fires or other uses.

It's been a little while since anyone has posted on this subject. Are the Aquacube units holding up well?

Permanent water solution - Aquacube?

Enjoying the thread and thanks to those who offered up reviews. I've pulled the trigger on an aquacube and am awaiting delivery.

Anyone use the aquacube as a sort of fixed-semi permanent water solution in your rig, using the pump as your main cold water line (IE - plumbing it to a semi-permanent tank/leaving it in the rig or maybe putting it on a slide to pull out when using the propane to heat water).

I may not be explaining it in the best way but I'm thinking about building some sort of drawer/box slide that can hold an aquatainer and the cube on sort of a fridgeslide that would remain in the rig - I would slide it out over the tailgate to vent when using the heat portion. I might even like to install a sink above the cube and just plumb the line up. It sounds involved but I've already built one version of a quick-release water line version in a drawer unit (think the warfield slideout kitchen design). Of course that one just had cold water but i could use it for a shower as well - just wondering if anyone has messed around with their aquacubes in this way?

I just bought one the Aqua Cubes for my Quicksilver pop-up (not exactly Expo... I know). Neither of which have yet to arrive...

Here's my question: After substantial googling, I've determined that the water fittings are actually Nitto air couplings. Anybody know of a source for these fittings in the US? Searching has yeilded lots of results from Australia (no surprise) but nothing in the US.

I basically want to add a hose off the faucet, so I just need 1 female Nitto coupling.

Anybody?

A second question...

Can anyone tell me what the outlet pressure is for the built in regulator? I am wondering if I can bypass the built in regulator and provide the standard ~1/2psi / ~11wc. I am trying to avoid any high pressure LPG lines inside my trailer.

I called Mr Heater... They were useless on this topic.

Here's my question. I've always used a solar shower and have been able to do body showers both gf and I. You guys must be packing tons of water in the vehicle or are you camping near creeks, rivers, etc for a water source. It seems that this unit would use a lot of water very quickly. Please comment and prove me wrong!

Downside to solar shower - if it's not warm/sunny, it isn't working

I just bought a Nemo Shower Westy, so only time will tell. I love the idea of the Aqua Heater, but I also wonder how much water it consumes. Plus, cold water is better for the skin anyways, right?

So far I really like it.
Ran extensive tests out on my front deck with it using a 5 gallon or so bucket.

I do have two of the big blue Reliance water containers with the spigot, but have not tested yet whether the pump will screw on or go in.
Will see if the pump fits my containers this week or over the weekend.
I sure would like a 20 liter container like it shows on the tag that is on the end of the pump, but my Google searches have turned up nothing, even looked on the OZ site where these originate from.

Why have a hot water heater? Cold showers are good for you..

Could be, depends on what the two women camping near you look like.

Then again, they may not have a hot shower and it could be a great ice breaker!

Seems like someone handy could heat water in a coil and send it into a small tank (with a pop off valve) take it to a mixing valve and have a shower. I've always wondered why a row of candles lit might heat water in a tubed coil, have no idea what the btu would be.
Anyone?

I saw in a Cabela's catalog that there is a new version of this. "Boss" I think it was called? I have not seen anything else about it online, but it has been about a month or so since I have checked.

3 different models available but only the most expensive one also has a faucet. I considered buying one of these for my trailer. The poor reviews of previous models kept me away. I ended up with a built in heater for my trailer with a much fancier setup but still try to follow this more portable technology.
