Atacama to Uyuni route info help...

So I'm planning to try rent a 4x4 and explore Atacama. Any general info for places to see and roads to try and take.

(ok sctratch the drive to Uyuni cant take the rental to Uyuni. So we will stay in Atacama. Any cool routes and plces in Atacama?)
I have some info but Ive never been to this area of Chile so Id like to get a little first hand info for this trip.
Any help would be appreciated.
