How heavy duty is the connection from the storage wings to the base bumper? Would they rip off if you tagged them going over / into a boulder for instance?

Your build is very similar to mine, of course you have a Rubicon and I don't. I opted against the XHD storage end caps because I saw this vide. Maybe they have improved, if so, I am anxious to hear.

Looks nice. Good stuff
Saw the video before I purchased the xhd. Some of the video was design, some from user error. Mine doesn't have nearly the gap that the video shows when he grabbed it and pried it apart I suspect he didn't have the lid fully and properly closed when he did his demo. That being said it is a storage bin and not a safe and it is far easier to just smash the thin/cheep cab glass than to pry on the lids to open them for some chain. An easy solution would be to replace the locking tongue with a hardened steel one instead of the mild/soft steel one it come with. As seen in the video, to open it by prying on it you have to bend the lock tongue. I did some off-road and trail this past week and they didn't pop off with a bottle jack and chains banging around in them. For me, the design still trumps any security issues. Once I look to replace the locks i'll post a how-to on getting them replaced. Just not on the top of the priority list right now...
Nice build. I look forward to following it. Any more upgrades since April?
