Yup. So that's why it looked so new, didn't know that.
Not sure why I took a pic of the bathroom- except that it had a sign on it with the name of the park.

Wow. Looks like they did a nice job. AW Way is a pretty nice campground, never seems to be too many people there.
I've read this thread twice now (well three now!) with the intent of expressing gratitudes and congratulations to Suntinez for a Wanderings thread well done! I've had to link this into my "Places to Visit" file since there are so many places in Cali that look interesting to me. I'll have to live it vicariously for now (impatiently waiting for "someday" to arrive) but I think the teardrop will look sweet rolling down route 1 along the coast......
Movin' right along. In search of good times and good news,
With good friends you can't lose, This could become a habit..
Opportunity knocks once, let's reach out and grab it.
Together we'll nab it. We'll hitch-hike, bus or yellow cab it!
Cab it?

Thanks Jim. That teardrop of yours would look beautiful anywhere, but especially driving down Rt 1! I hope when "someday" arrives, you'll let me show you some of my favorite pieces.
I'm wandering again, but will get back to this thread ... seems so long ago now, and Tiger2 has been getting my attention lately.

Just a heads up for anyone heading to do the Usal Road between Usal Campground and Shelter Cove...as of Tuesday, May 8, the road is closed north of the Usal Campground. Not sure if you can go south on the road from the Shelter Cover area or not.
Great trip report as usual Linda. I just got back from a quick work trip up North. Was in Redding for the eclipse. Worked in Redding Monday. Drove from Redding to Eureka Monday night and then on to Weott the next morning to do some testing for the Ca. Park Rangers. Drove the whole length of Avenue of the Giants. Fantastic views, but sadly not much time to explore or take lots of photos.
Thanks for the pictures so I can see what missed out on this trip. And to know what to see on the next, slower, trip.
