I understand the photo, video, and notes functions. But where does the map the GPS data is overlaid on come from?
Uploading the trip report to a website run by Columbia might be OK, so long as you can choose to keep the information private.
Looks like they use Google for their map source (would be great if it was selectable).
I checked and while it links with social networks, and stores the data on Columbia's servers, posts and GPS data is private unless you choose to share.
Will be heading out in a trail run/hike this weekend and will report back.

So some feedback on this app...
Couldn't even get it to work effectively on my Motorola Atrix - it kept force-closing, so that was pretty much a dud.
Just picked up a HTC One X this weekend and installed the app - it doesn't seem to force-close, so gonna take it out on a trail run later this week and will report back.
on my droid charge it forces closed everytime you do anything. it is a very cool idea, just a lot of bugs..hopefully thye get it fixed.
