4D34T Turbo upgrade

wow that is interesting. looks to me to be the same hotside/turbine setup with the next size up compressor from the mitsubishi stable.

I wonder if the std exh outlet elbow fits?

by the looks of the outlet i would say yes it would.. i would not count that as a good thing however, that is a MAJOR restriction point as soon as you go over about 12psi. on my previous fg649, it had no wastegate, the exhaust after the factory downpipe (inc brake) was 3.5" and it was chipped for more fuel, thing would not make more than 17psi. my firm belief is the cause was the stock dump pipe + the stock air intake restricting airflow and gas expansion from the turbine.
i would be curious to see how this turbo goes though.. somebody wanna try it? (i dont have a 4D34 anymore..)

The outlet is a big restriction. I also built a 4D34 powered cruiser and could not use the factory elbow due to the firewall inteference. Here is my workaround - I tig welded a stainless weld elbow to the cast steel turbo housing and put a V band on it. I am sure it helped...
