I see the rack is going to be covered with canvas - i assume it to be more like a softopper look? How does the rack connect? Bolt or via the rail system?

Yes he's having a custom canvas cover made for the rack which will have roll up sides and back flap. Very similar to the soft topper idea except it will fit tight to the rack. The rack itself bolts down using the track system inside the bed rails, no drilling required.
