Oh man! Guys, Joe is right!!!!
Taken this morning north of DFW! Chem trails!!!??? :sombrero:

I've yet to see any high volume air samplers confirm the contents of the trails so the jury is still out. However, the spraying for cousin skeeter does distribute some nasty crap harmful to us humans the toss up is which is worse cousin skeeter or the pesticide?

Yeah, no kidding. The county will start spraying here pretty soon. They've already started farther south.....

I've done a standing water audit in my back yard... if I couldn't disperse the water, I put bleach in to kill the larvae and then a cap of vegetable oil to float on the water. But, that's just my prevention methods... I talked to my neighbors about it and they didn't seem to care. I even offered to do the work for them.

We've got a 5 month old at home so, we're more concerned about West Nile than we'd normally be. Thankfully, my 6 year old and I don't get bitten very often by mosquitoes, but my wife and baby get swarmed...

Try eating garlic and brewers yeast too works for most, good luck there.

I've decided I need to put a diesel in my range rover. 24 gallons at 10 mpg won't get me very far. :Wow1: I can't believe this thread is still going. #200

Hi, interesting topic if we can stay on it. After spending 30+ yrs with the government in some of the worst areas in the world I found that water and medical equipment are the most needed supplies. I worked with the locals when I wasn't forced to kill them to protect my men. But in desperate situations people will kill you for a can of beans. As for vehicles, keep it versatile and light. I try and make everything do 2 jobs,ie.. stainless hub caps to cook in-carry water, hilift jack handle fits shovel and axe heads, winch control is also a flashlight. And you can do this with many things, Don't bother with a first aid kit that just has bandaids in it. If it bad out there and you're on your own know first aid, get a good medical book and pack it in your supplies. The parts of the book on how to deal with hemorrhoids can be used to start fires. Set up your BOV so it can be lived in right where you're at because movement draws attention and you will show others that you have what they need. Don't advertise that you're prepared and you many not have to kill or be killed. In refugee camps rape and murder among men is just a common as for woman. The strong feel the need to rule the weak, so you many need to go it alone or in small family groups. A BOV needs to store supplies in a central location not really transport them over hundreds of miles. Because of the need to blend in and disappear, building fires and setting up large camps must be kept to a minimum. The ability to "black out" is needed whether you bug out or bug in. Don't tell people you're ready for disaster if you want to keep your supplies. "Act dumb but don't be stupid"

Sounds like a carry over from ZS, where everyone has to hump all their belongings & live from those

I agree, your vehicle is a tool, have what you need & be prepared to ditch it if the need arises

My bug out plan is to use whatever is at hand to scrounge whatever it is I need. I don't intend on running away so no real need for my truck to look like something out of Mad Max. If it ever comes to the point where I'll need a Mad Max truck things will have already reached the point where I have the freedom to steal whatever it is I need, in which case others will be doing the same so the natural competition for resources will require a mixture strength in numbers for defence and the ability to covertly gather... neither of which a Mad Max truck will be able to supply unless your group has reached the size/strength where you can afford to send gathering parties out with high profile security.

All of the mods necessary to make a good high profile security truck will be possible using acquired resources, so until the 4th horseman of the apocalypse descends I'd rather spend my money on both rum and women.

really?

fate favors the prepared.

some dude, I think you'll just be another target in somebody else's sights if or when the lights go out forever; just my opinion and I dont really care how you live your life now as long as Im not 'inconvenienced for your convenience' otherwise.

I may engage you in trading my resources for some your rum and (.)(.) you've spent all your money on.

Save the scenario of a foreign army invasion of the US... it's not necessarily a good thing that everyone survives the apocalypse. Our Earth is overpopulated as it is!

The truth is that we'll all be another target in somebody else's sights if or when the lights go out forever. I could stock up in anticipation of the long wait, but I'd get bored and leave wherever it is I'm hiding anyway. Fortune also favours the bold, and I'd rather be leading people than hiding from them.
