2005 Toyota Tacoma SR5 4x4 Build Thread
Its an Australian company I believe. Camel 4x4 carries it. I had some questions about some of the Iron Man products and Eli who emailed me back was good with answering all of them. I found the prices were decent. Thats all I know
ACC Toyota In Atlanta GA sells it, installs it, and helped test it. They would be good folks to talk with.

From what I've heard, Ironman is the "other" brand of suspension stuff in AUS and is gaining a foothold here
I remember Wil from sierra exp was testing their lift on his crusier. He was impressed. He sells a lot of their stuff...may want to call him up and talk to him about them. I hear good things.

-what do you think?
I really enjoy the lift. The ride has improved tremendously from what I had previously (spacer front/ TSB rear) and in my opinion much better over stock. My truck is a 2005 that originally came from the factory with a three leaf pack that was way too soft. The TSB's, though produced lift, were much stiffer then needed without having a load in the rear.I feel I went from the feeling of bottoming out with the original suspension, to then with spacer/TSB just bouncing over everything (Though at the time I didn't care because it was a LIFT!!).
Now the Ironman lift is another story. It's fantastic! It absorbs as it's supposed, flexes when its supposed to and is very quiet (aside from some squeaky original bushings we had to reuse). I have the Foam Cell Front Shocks and the rear "B" leafs, which is a seven pack, with rear Nitro shocks. It handles a moderate load (Camping equipment) without issue. I have yet to test a heavy load. In all honesty, I couldn't be happier.
-have pics?
I only have pics of it on my truck and can't do detailed photos just yet, as it technically isn't fully released yet. Everyone knows how the internet can be and I don't want my words here, written while still in the testing phase, to hold Ironman accountable to.
To see more photos just look at my build
-how much lift?
That's a tough one as my truck was already slightly lifted to begin with. However the measurements came to roughly 2.75" and will probably settle around 2.5", depending on the spring rate you choose.
-driveline vibration?
None. We opted out of a diff drop due to too many negative opinions of them and the simple math behind their cost, what the "drop" actually nets, and because it doesn't come with the kit. The kit does include a driveshaft drop bracket. I've driven it in almost every situation, on mild trails, city driving, and highway with absolutely no vibration. Something to take into account is that I also have slightly over sized tires that make noise and vibration all themselves!
-has it settled?
As stated before I expect to setting a quarter inch or so but I have only had the lift roughly a month plus. I do plan in the near future for a front bumper swap so we'll cross that bridge then!
-how long have you had it?
I have only had the lift roughly a month plus, but plan to keep it for the long haul. I will be doing extensive testing this next week at GSMTR (Great Smokey Mountain Trail Ride) and we'll let you know how it all goes.
I hope that is sufficient enough of an answer as I can't disclose every detail just yet.
Let me know if you have any further questions!
Sincerely,
Peter
