Default Lotto idea should be legal

In recent years, I have seen several times whete people have advertised that they were selling their homes with the raffle ticket concept, so it must be legal, at least in states that allow the lottery tickets to be sold.....which is about everywhere these days. I have also read several newspaper articles publicizing this type of sale.

I think the limit might be that you can sell only enough tickets to cover the value of the item and the costs of the promotion, and also that you have to pledge that you will refund the money you have collected if not enough tickets are sold to make the raffle work.

That being said, I like, any forum member would gladly spend my yearly lotto budget on a ticket or two for a unbelievably cool rig like this.....so, yeah, please do check into this idea!

To my lotto/raffle motivated friends...thanks for the compliments on the build. I have not taken time to look into this approach and doubt that I will go this route. If all goes to plan the rig will be posted on craigslist then ebay in July and Aug

dont do it. youre not going to sell 500 tickets at 200 a pop, and youre gonna hit legal problems. timeline? people are going to want one, and do you wanna be refunding money? and no, unlike what the one person posted, you cant sell "more" tickets for charity, youll affect the original odds and break the contract you made with the original buyers. think about it. i buy a 1/500 chance than find out you sold 700... you will be hearing from an attorney giving all your money away.

this is a stupid idea outside of an audited fundraiser. just sell the truck.

Nice truck, not exactly what I would expect to see when browsing craiglist though. Good luck with sale.
