    Default FJ 45 project

Thought I would share this with the board. A good friend of mine recently picked this rig up and is in the throws of getting her running.

Still looking for a few select body parts and figuring out the motor, trans, and t-case ( mostly chevy stuff by previous owner). Take a peak.

Have good doors and picked up a windshield on another board. Currently looking for a clean '66 split hood.

Still gotta get new springs and get it back to spring under, get her running reliable and safe. It's going to be a fun challenge!

Nice project! Too bad about the cheby stuff. I'd get rid of that nasty redneck roll bar if it was mine.

Interestingly enough, the "nasty redneck roll bar' is actually a winch support for a large winch which was mounted in the bed.

From what I understand, the truck was used to pull logs out of northwestern rivers to be used as furniture. Something like a "river logger".

Lot of home grown parts. Once we get thru the bad stuff, hopefully it'll get good.

That certainly makes it more interesting; on second look it does seem like a pretty substantial framework. Have fun with the build at any rate, and please post photos of your progress.

I'll do my best to keep up with progress reports. I will be mostly involved in engine, trans , and t-case history just to get it running. Will move from there to get the lift out and re spring the truck to a more OE feel.

Till then another pic. This one from the back. Look close and you will notice the rigging on the back tube structure as well as some of the spare parts that came along with the purchase.

Into a body guy now to straighten the firewall as the truck was rolled some years ago and has been sitting since.

From what my buddy told me it appears the rear superstructure actually helped save the truck from more damage during the accident.

And yes, the hard top and doors were not on the truck at the time. We'll take a look again when it rolls out of the shop.
