Default Pair of IH Scout IIs in New Mexico

A very good friend is selling a pair of Scout IIs, one is fairly built up for extended back country travel, in fact he routinely sleeps in the back as a 'camper' of sorts on many of the trips we've taken together, the other is essentially for parts although it could also be built up as well. Both are located in Bosque Farms, NM just outside Albuquerque.

    the details:

    The runner is a 1975, 304 v8 with a newly rebuilt 2 bbl carb, K&N filter
    T19 granny 4 speed
Dana 20 with 3.15:1 low range gears
Dana 44 front and rear with 4.10 gears, a Detroit soft locker in the rear and a Dana Power-Loc in the front
    Skyjacker 4" lift
33x12.5x15 BFG ATs on AR white spoke steel wheels
    New Warn Premium hubs
Warn differential armor front and rear
    New rear driveshaft
custom heavy duty bumpers f&r, may be air tanks, his XJ bumpers are
Full Roll Cage, 3 hoops with spreader bars
    new windshield
    armored tie rod
newly boiled, sealed and painted brass radiator
    new seat covers
new rubber seals for doors and hatch
    CB Radio and 108" whip
    New floor panels
new carpeting in the rear with bedliner paint under it
    Factory Service Manual

This Scout has been pictured in travel articles in at least three different issues of 4WD and SUV magazine

It does need some body work, wipers and brake lights.

The 2nd Scout is also a 1975, no title, 304, Automatic trans (727 Torqueflite), dana 20 transfer case, but stock.
There is also a bunch of misc other parts, some body parts, some others.

He has over $6K in the runner and is asking $3K obo for the pair, but the deal is all or nothing.

Feel free to email me directly at cjatheart@yahoo.com or PM me here with questions or contact info for the seller. I have some pics that I will try to post later or send to anyone interested

    Thanks!

Scouts are great; if I didn't already have so many 4WD trucks I'd be tempted.

I know what you mean, this is a great deal, I just dont have space for them or I would have already grabbed them. I tried to see about storing them in Colorado at the wife's family's ranch but was vetoed sooooooo

    Default Very interested

I was pointed to these machines by a good friend from this site. I live in ABQ and am quite interested. Can you tell me if these vehicles are still available? I wrote you direct but am touching base here just in case you see this first. Cheers!

Default I had the good fortune to purchase the lot...

Well, I call it good fortune. My wife just thinks I am crazy, which I suppose validates my presence here somehow. The machinery is going to be fun to work on and USE, but the real good fortune came in meeting the seller. A really extraordinary fellow, and a great example of why I gravitated to the Scout-side in the first place. Hope to meet many of you on the trail (and beyond !
