Default Finally an expedition worthy rig

Well, hopefully. As long as the deal goes through in a couple weeks. I will be the owner of an 04' KLR 650. I've been lurking here for years just never been able to afford to turn my superduty into a usable camping/expedition rig, fuel's a killer. KLR should fix all that and hopefully this summer I'll have plenty WI and UP trips under my belt.

First question, will be looking for new PPE gear, any recommendations?

Cool. Be sure to throw up a picture when you get it.

Riding gear comes down to budgets ant fit.
You just need to find stuff that fits right that you can afford.

Here she is. A 04 KLR 650 10K miles and af few accessories and new kenda tires. I think it was a pretty good deal for $1900.

Sweet! I'd say that's a good deal. I paid $1200 for my 2001 with 14k miles. It had a few mods, but nothing like the stuff you got.

I ended up with the Kathmandu jacket don't have the pants yet but will soon. I swear I tried on every jacket at bobs and the Kathmandu was the only jacket that was comfortable and am loving it so far.

Crash bars are next on the list. After I get the front fork seals in, still debating if I should do springs/emulators or both at the same time.
