On Monterorider's build story he metalcrafted a raised platform It looks kind of like yours, Offroader.
Btw wanting to ask both of you how the width of an opening over the wheelwells and height from shelf to ceiling. My Monty will serve as hunting rig must have room for 2 lab size dog crates.

Oh, ok. You may want to ask him in his build thread.

As for the dimensions, I'll have to doublecheck but IIRC the width was close to 4' if you put it just above the wheel arches. Not sure about the height. I raised mine high enough that I could fold the middle row seats forward or raise them up since I frequently have more than 1 passenger in mine so having the middle row seats usable is important to me.

Mine is welded from 1/8" angle iron. Bolted down in place of standard tie down. Top is 3/4 plywood. Purposely made low to be level with folded rear seat. As result gives decent headroom. Which is about 36 or so. I carried 4 33" tires standing upright there. Bed width I remember measured somewhere about 58". Pretty sturdy. I've carried over 10 bags of concrete mix on top.
