Default 2012 AEV JK Unlimited Hemi Brute

The long awaited Brute for the JK chassis is now available for pre-order. The four door Brute will be available as a complete vehicle, or as a kit for "professional installation" on your JK.

Delivery of the complete vehicle is now expected by Fall 2012.

That 4 door kit on a diesel based JK would be a winning combination.

    I'll keep dreaming....

Looks fantastic, but 139"(!!) WB certainly reduces the breakover angle a tad . . .

I looked hard at this at SEMA this year and as with all of AEV's stuff it is first rate, factory or better quality in every aspect but it is one LARGE unit, I'm not sure but I think the new Power Wagon or other 4 door, short bed trucks are smaller. There was a 3/4T flat bed version at EJS that also looked very interesting, not sure if it was AEV or not but appeard to be very nicely done though as with the Brute, very large

It's Motor Trend's turn to post an article about driving AEV's four door Hemi pickup

Good point about the increased size of the vehicle. AEV writes,

"AEV starts with a four-door JK Wrangler and stretches the chassis 23 inches for a final wheelbase of 139 inches.
The overall vehicle length stands at 216 inches, a total increase of 30 inches, with a small frame extension at the rear to accommodate the pickup bed.
The interior dimensions of the Brute Double Cab’s truck bed are 61”L x 60”W (44 inches between the wheel houses)"

Compare that with a 2012 Dodge Ram Power Wagon:
    -- wheelbase 149 inches (10 inches longer)
-- overall length 237 inches (11 inches longer)
    -- bed size 76 x 66 inches (17 inches longer, 6 inches wider)
-- 51 inches between the wheel wells (7 inches wider)

The Power Wagon has a payload of 2500 lb, according to the Dodge specs. I wonder what the AEV Wrangler has as payload.

One thing's certain: The AEV jeep will cost much more than the Power Wagon's $41K price tag, maybe double that amount.

A Power Wagon is not a fair comparison, right?

    How about a 4x4 Tacoma Double Cab at 74" x 208" with a 127" wheelbase with a bed of 60" long by 56" wide

Check the specs on the '07 PW, near identical to the JKU Brute. The quad cab made it near perfect, while the bigger megacab stretches it just a bit too much for my liking- Bill, chime in ;-)
