Wanted- Ford Explorers being used in Humanitarian acts abroad

They would like to put together and present to Ford a campaign about how the Explorer has helped communities in 4 to 8 countries worldwide. They are looking for something unique, visual and exciting.

It could be delivering medicines in the Andes, or building a damn in the Himalayas on the world's worst roads. It could be ferrying sick children to a clinic in Africa or serving a scientist looking for a cure for cancer in the Amazon. The trick is, they would like to find the best, most unique situation, fly out and shoot the story for the new campaign.

..On a side note I would consider any and all acts of kindness that will get myself and my first gen Explorer and gear over to and back from the Outback of Australia to film, explore, and update the trip...Of course I will be meeting up with our other members whom reside down under..

..I have 1 spare seat open for 1 Ford rep or camera person for whomever wants to sponsor this...

I know people are brand loyal, but "greatest suv on the planet"? Only a few die hard explorer owners would agree. Good luck

..I think it's more of a major company looking to thank those for doing Humanitarian acts..Hey, I'm sure it's a good business deal for them too but I for one would like to see more effort put forth by major companies..

..and thanking those who do selfless acts should be brought forth to the limelight...Maybe others will be inspired to give of themselves too...

Are Ford explorers produced in places like Africa or India? I think your very likely to find more usage in places like England/Eurozone and North america where Ford has more of a presence. Maybe somewhere like alaska, too.

A gas-guzzling petrol ford SUV in africa doing the "tough" work you mention sounds like a Ford-sponsored event to begin with. I'm sure they'd already be aware of it...

Old-school Land rover series trucks/defenders, mercedes heavy trucks, gwagons, and car-based sedan/wagons, toyota everything, nissan light trucks and SUV's, to some extent mitsubishi, MAN, etc heavy trucks...are what you're going to find in Africa, South america, Southern Asia, etc.

..I was really hoping to keep this on more of the Humanitarian topic but figured a few would have to stick their thoughts about the size of their trucks in here..

..So I'll lower the level of this could be inspirational thread for a minute and feed some information that I know to be fact...

..The 1st and 2nd Gen Ford Explorer is a Ranger based Vehicle and both the Ford Explorer and Ranger are still currently used in service around the world by many Foreign Governments and Foreign Aid groups even though they are not produced in their respective countries

..The countries you have named are actually documented on this Forum with pictures of these vehicles overlanding and being used as the support vehicles...

..I'm not even going to get into the less fuel efficient (due to their heavier weight) old school vehicles you have named or why Jeep owners steal parts from these two vehicles to make their vehicle more offroad capable..

..I feel this is an honorable gesture to say the least for those who give freely of themselves and I really thought this Forum with all these worldwide members would be able to help in this. Is there a Sub-Forum here I might have missed that deals with foreign aid and such?

Don't know much about what any body doing humanitarian work drives these days....

.............but I do know Jeeps, and I don't know of anyone who uses any 'Exploder' parts on the Jeeps to 'make them more capable off road', or for any other reason.

Ford 8.8 rear ends are sometimes used in xj's... All i can think of..

And to the OP, i didnt mention jeeps at all in the vehicles i mentioned, don't really have a horse in this race. All the rigs i listed usually run a diesel motor, and yes would actually be more fuel efficient.

And, if you will, take a look at the signature line at the bottom of my posts... I own a ford, dude. Not bashing you choice of vehicle.

I've read alot about international relief efforts and i listed the ones i'm familiar with. Thats it..
