Can you tell me what model of Pioneer deck that is?

    Thanks!
It's a Pioneer AVH-P1400DVD, courtesy of Esmi. With more bells and whistles than I've sorted out yet.

I definitely approve of the camera - I can parallel park now

    Default tires and shocks

I was getting ready for a trip and wasn’t sure whether to do tires or shocks first on the Tiger. It’s just as easy to do changes on the road as it is at home, so I left without doing either.

I didn’t know how much life was left on my rubber but something had to be done about the stiff ride, so shocks first. I wanted the Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks but no one, not even Rancho dealers, had them in stock. So I went with the Bilstein 5100s, and the ride got much better right away – the old Monroe shocks had zero give in them, hard as a rock.

What the heck, I went ahead and did the steering stabilizer shock at the same time.

I went to Cruiser Outfitter’s customer appreciation party in Sandy UT. You don’t have to have a Landcruiser to discover that Kurt gives great customer service, I’ve bought a few things from him in the past. We didn’t fit in the 40 series row,

or the 60/70/80 series row – there were lots of beautiful cruisers at his event. But we found a home in the outcast section

and Tiger made some new friends, actually it was the kids who liked it best.

Then on to the San Juan mountains of CO to meet some folks for an epic week of fun that FishPOET put together. Here’s Tiger and his truck at our campsite near Silverton, a beautiful spot.

The second night there I blew a tire driving a >little< too fast back to camp. Someone in the group had problems with a close encounter of the deer kind and had to spend all day dealing with his truck before he could get his jeep on the trails. He was nice enough to take my tire in to get fixed while he was in Durango dealing with his problems.

Right before I’d left, Mr. Roo himself (Adventureduo) figured out how to put a Trasharoo on my spare. He said if I ever got a flat to just cut the straps. Couldn’t bring myself to do that since I love the extra storage, so I lengthened them a bit and got everything re-attached. The strap that holds the tire on is actually great for making sure the ‘roo doesn’t go anywhere.

I went with Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor Pro 235/85/16, load range E – same brand tire I just put on the XL. I hitched a ride for the trails in ETAV8Rs Tacoma and the MJR crews' jeeps so I was set for the trip, but wanted to make sure Tiger could get around on its own.

So off to Durango myself to get all the tires swapped out – new shoe day, always a good day.

On the way back from Durango I spotted another CX and pulled in to chat. Turns out we’d talked online on the Tiger usergroup and they’ve made some great mods to their rig and use it a lot. Here they are together, the other one is a 94 Chevy 2500 base, 2WD.

Thanks, as always, for the pictures, descriptions and accounts of the travels in the Tiger du jour.

P.S.: Might as well ask this here as anywhere . . . I turned out of my neighborhood street today at about 1:15 and ran right across the bow of a Tiger CX. I figured Linda would probably at least stopped by, so I decided it wasn't her. Anyone I know in a Tiger west of Portland at OR217 and Walker Road this afternoon?

    Great tires.
I have these on my 4runner (well, in the appropriate, size and class anyway)
and have been very impressed with the degree to which they reduced the amount of road noise.
I've also found them to be long wearing and good in snow as well.
