Default K5 Blazer with Chalet Popup - Really Neat Expedition Vehicle.

    Looks nearly turn key.

With nominal investment this looks like it could be a great Expedition Vehicle.

It's serial #1004, built 10/76 and the owner is quite adamant that the camper and Blazer stay together. Advantage of this particular one is that at least the camper wiring harness has been altered so that it is a plug-in to the truck and the seller is quite knowledgeable on how to put it back together. My former Chalet's harness was a factory spliced-together nightmare and I only had one operating backup light and no good way to find out where the fault in the wiring was.

Also this one was converted (I assume by one of the previous owners) to have the 3/4 ton axles, so that puts a person a bit ahead of the game there, too.

It is a pretty sweet Blazer on it's own accord. Is there a decent market for the Chalet, as it seems pretty complete and decent condition. And is there a market for it on the east coast? It is from Az, then Wy where it resides currently. Obviously I want the Blazer, but the Chalet not so much....
Contact me if there is any interest in the camper portion, as I am debating about going after the whole enchilada.

The market as it is now is a buyer's market, as the lousy economy forces many to sell a classic rare vehicle that is otherwise sitting around not paying the rent. My Google map shows around 50 out therre, but I wish I could keep better track of which were sold. Much better market back east for western Blazers since most east of the Mississippi have rusted in half by now. Over in Georgia, for example, serial #1304 was recently in its 6th listing with no takers, but you can see from its last listing how its rust is a bit of a problem.

For future collector value, I'd recommend not selling off the camper, as the 'car-nut collector value' of Chalets is the complete original unit in one piece. Since this one has been modded a bit, perhaps its collector value is eroded, but it could be put back to original better than some others out there. Chalet #0204, for example, was sold for 10 grand back in 2005 as a really nice original, but I'd say its re-appearance with mods and a now missing set if interior cabinets on the driver's side lessens its value, not increases it.
