Yes, you just need a rear PTO with a spined output as shown here
It has a shaft connecting it to the PTO mounted in place of the transfer case PTO cover or to a bottom PTO.

Wonder how well a series would handle pulling a 5 foot mower thew tall grass? I found some pretty neat videos on YouTube I'll post later. I would love to be able to put a old rover to work on my farm.

Not many Series trucks were sold in the USA with the rear PTO - an exception was a bunch (maybe 250?) of 1967 Land Rover pickups sold to the State of Florida that were used for pulling 5' mower decks on the shoulders of highways. So to answer your question - yes they will pull a mower deck, bush hog or plow - the turning circle sucks however. I bought my Ex-Florida truck (the first time) from a couple who had been using it on their farm in NW Alabama. They wanted to sell the Rover and pick up an old tractor because it was difficult to turn tightly enough to plow adjacent rows in their 1/4 acre garden.
Me and my Rover - 1973. 1967 ex-Florida truck - originally painted chrome yellow. Owned it 1973-1978 and tracked it down and bought it back in the mid-1990's. It's undergoing a frame up restoration to as new condition - complete with functioning rear PTO.
PTO's come up for sale occasionally - expect to pay between $600-$1200 for a complete set-up.

It has to be a two-door series truck - either 88" or 109" - there is a PTO output that goes in the rear of the transfer case then the drive shaft for the PTO (obviously different lengths for the two wheelbases) and the rear gearbox that bolts to the rear cross member with the splined output shaft. The rear passenger floor of the 109 Station wagons drops down into the way of the drive shaft that runs through the big holes in the frame cross members back to the rear gearbox assembly so you can't put the rear PTO on a 109 wagon (gas tank is also in the way on the 109). I can take some pictures of the hardware this weekend and post them up for you. You can also look for the digital version of the Series truck optional equipment catalog which has drawings of the whole setup.
Actually there was an optional equipment fuel tank for SIII 109s that allowed fitting of a rear PTO. It was a half size tank that allowed passage of the propshaft.
edit: I originally said station wagon, but old timer's is getting me. It's for 109' non-station wagons that had a rear fuel tank.
I picked up my rear PTO from ebay, they show up now and then.
There are actually two major components to the rear PTO. The center PTO, which is fitted to the transfer case, and the rear PTO in the photos. The propshaft of course is needed, but that could be sourced locally in a pnich.
If you get one, make sure the center PTO is not for a 1 Ton as they are not interchangeable between the 1 Ton transfer case and normal Series transfer case.
If I can remember, I'll look at the difference this weekend (I have one of each) and let you know how to tell them apart.
I do know it's a different sleeve gear, bearing and input shaft.
