Would be cool to see in use but honestly I think you'd be better off with a tractor. Probably find one for just as much money and is better for the job.

I'd really like one of these:

but they sell for around £900 as they are very rare, being made for a very few years.

Thanks for all the great info and pictures guys.
I have about 400 acres 100 of which I mow using my 1970's Ford 4610 60 hp tractor and a 5 foot bush hog. I agree the tractor is best for the job but I would love to have the option to use a series.

400 acres eh? Nice! Sounds like you could use a PTO powered post hole digger to mend the fences with!

Sometimes looking cool is more important than maximum efficiency.

And let's face it, boys, mowing your grass with a beat up old Series is pretty badass.

My thought exactly! I could even have the wife kid and dog ride along!

Love your old photo JackW, especially those old Hi Miler Custom Xtra grip tires... I have those on my series III and I think they are original. I'm trying to track down a new set and just found some on ebay that are brand new but rather pricey. I'd love to get a rear PTO for use at my ranch as well. I have a tractor but just not as fun.
