Is it just me or does it look like you won't have much up-travel out of those shocks?
I spoke with a rep from summit and he said these would work for my specifications. I'm dubious of their up travel ability too, we'll see how they work.

How much shock shaft is showing under the boot? I know the only reason I have tucked the rear shock mounts on the axle up on my truck is I can only go up about another inch on the upper mounts, and I'd lose about 3 inches of up travel.

I tucked the lower mounts up like that because I wanted as clean a profile as possible under the axle so as to not hang up on obstacles.

You can see in the second pic looking up at the mount, the amount of inner shaft sticking out, about 6".

Got the front axle back from the mechanic, he repacked all the bearings, replaced all the seals, did the gears and replaced the calipers (one was seized with rust.) Also, 5 out of 6 screws that hold the locking hubs in place were snapped in two, so I would have been in trouble my first time out.

Prepped and ready for paint:

OK so the front axle is finally in! For good this time. Still need to figure out the bump stops, but the shocks line up nicely and the tie rod clears the factory cross member, so I'll be good to go soon. Saturday should be the day I can finally drive my truck after nearly 3 months! I'm stoked :cool:

I'm done with the axle swap part of the build! At least, what I can do for now. So, some obligatory flex shots for your pleasure.

So, aside from the transfer case and drive shafts, it's done! Got the new front end done up, new tires, new exhaust and I'm rolling!
