question about rebuilding a trailer

Hello all,

I have a 3'x4' utility trailer I am thinking of rebuilding and I am trying to find out how much of the trailer I must keep intact to use the title? I plan on changing the axle and I would like to enlarge the trailer to 4'x6'. I am in washington state if that helps.

The title should read what the unladen weight and GVW weight max should be.
Build as you like keep it simple and don't give the Police a reason to pull you over and check paperwork.
I have modified trailers from thier original state and for years been fine with the men in Blue.
I just drive like a sane person and keep my rig clean and safe. No reason for hastle no problem.
