600w and almost certainly Modified Square Wave.
But it's a little old, a little dirty, and certainly used.
If it works, I would probably pay 20 bucks max. I picked up a similar old 1000w unit for 10 bucks from a guy who was parting out an old Winnebago.

Thanks DWH. I found this on a military community classified ad. My guess is it was something left over from a downrange visit.?. I tried to look on the site but as you said, this may be a little old? I couldn't find it (or any inverters like it) on the manufactures site. He wants 50 bucks for it, I offered him 30 but he declined. I'll check back with him in a week or so and see if he's willing to come down. Could you offer a dummied down explination between Square wave and...? Sine? Im so far from a techno guy Its amazing my Jeep doesn't have stone tires. Haha!
Modified square/sine wave is were the ups and downs are almost completely vertical. A pure sine wave looks more like nice smooth rolling hills. First picture scrolling your way down: http://www.bdbatteries.com/inverterconsiderations.php
Modified sine wave inverters are cheaper to make and easier to get ahold of. For 50 bucks you can find a new one that is rated at about 750 watts you just have to wait for sales. I wouldn't give him more than 10 bucks for the one you pictured. http://www.amazon.com/Go-Power-GP-60...9174269&sr=8-1
By some chance it is a pure sine wave inverter then it would probly be worth what he wants as they are still fairly expensive. http://www.amazon.com/Wagan-9863-Wat.../dp/B0007V27YY
