Default Weekend Trip to Pisgah and Uwharrie

mountains 476.jpgmountains 475.jpgmountains 521.jpgmountains 489.jpgmountains 466.jpgmountains 388.jpgWhat's up guys. Just got back from a weekend trip out to Mortimer and the Uwharrie Forest. Had a blast and most importantly the rig held up like a dream. Got everything in that we needed with ease thanks to the extra space gained by taking out the 3rd row seat. With the OME HD springs the ride was absolutely fantastic. The BFG-AT KO's rode great offroad as well as on the highway. Did some exploring out at the Uwharrie as well. Rode out on OHV trail #87 and had no problems whatsoever. Only had to engage the 4WD at the very end of the trail to make it up and over a boulder garden. I did air the tires down to 20psi for the trails which gave me a bit of added track as well as a smoother ride. I used a CO2 set-up to air back up. Had plenty of clearance with the OME and the 265/75r16s. I'm def interested in getting the ARB front winch bumper and a custom rear bumper for recovery. Add it to the list! Great trip out and can not wait to get back out there! If any of you folks are in the area hit me up and maybe we could run a convoy of MONTYs out in western NC!! Hope the photos load up - first time posting pics. Didn't get as many as I would have liked, but I did my best.

    Great pictures!

The Monty is high on my list for a next vehicle, if you ever have a free afternoon I'd love to check it out sometime (I am down in Fuquay) Don't see to many of them around.

great photos of your trip up there man! looks like you guys had a pretty sweet camp set up. some of the trails from the photos look a bit difficult for my monty to tackle in its current configuration, but i was impressed with some of the easier trails it took me through. i need to keep crossing parts off the dream list so i can cross paths with you guys up on the more difficult sections! good times

i've got nothing but great things to say about this vehicle so far. tons of storage space and plenty of offroad capability with just the OME lift and slightly bigger tires. i'd be more than happy to let you check it out. what kind of rig are you running with now? i'm definitely interested in hitting uwharrie up again soon if you want to run down there sometime!

Unfortunately nothing, I had two Land Rover Discos recently (a 96 and an 02) but sold the 02 last year to get into something that got a little better gas mileage as my commute increased with an office move. The car I bought has been a mechanical nightmare and I am planning on selling it next spring and getting back into a truck. I've always liked the Monte, and like the size and drivetrain options with the 3rd gen. PM me sometime.

That said a good friend of mine has a Rubicon and loves going out to URE, we've been several times. Let me know when you're going out there again and I'm sure it wouldn't take too much persuading to get him (us) to go!

    Cheers
    Ryan
