The blitz cans are more like people saying their $100 family tent is just as good as a high end tent
They can wish but when it comes to the limits they fall short IMHO

For the Scepter cans, try your local Army surplus store. I just picked up two more for $25 ea. There were three other stores in the area that had them for the same price. You can grab some Scepter water cans too. Check the gaskets though.
You probably won’t be able to find any Scepter fuel cans at any surplus stores but some guy in Florida claims to still have the cans and all the cap parts for sale. (He wants top dollar though….) If I can find his link I’ll post it for you.
Otherwise try searching the forum for some for sale.
The water cans on the other hand are easy to find.
By the way, for the Blitz metal cans, use the proper gasoline rubber gasket from military cans, NOT the o-ring that comes from Blitz and you will not have any problem with leaks.

What's wrong with NATO metal gas cans? Besides availability, that is?
Folks won't have to contend with the usual problems with new Blitz gas cans any longer......

Oddly enough, I've had better luck with CARB compliant metal gas cans than the old style non-CARB cans. I could never get the gasket on the old style to seal up and I'd allways get water and rust in the cans if they were stored outside. The new cans have been stored outside for several years with no rust issues, and they don't seem to leak when I go rockcrawling. I use a siphon for transfering fuel.
Having traveled the southwest and taken many a backroad route, I'd just keep an eye on the gas gauge and be aware how far you are from civilization. In my little yota pickup I never needed my gas cans.

OUCH! Guess they had to many leaking cans...
But really, those lawsuits are probably ridiculous and I equate it to suing the gun makers when someone gets shot. There are plenty of idiots in the world who are going to blow themselves up. It isn't b/c of the gas can...
I personally never carry gas inside a closed vehicle no matter how air-tight you think it is. Not a good idea. Put them on top of the vehicle.
I second the Super Siphon. I also recommend the extension you can buy for it so you can leave the gas cans on the roof and just siphon from there rather than taking them off the roof. Very easy to use and empties the cans fast. I have used military scepter MFCs with new viton gaskets.
