    Default dehydrated soup recipes

I take along lots of dehydrated food, and would like to see if anyone has a recipe for tomato or cream of mushroom soup. I dehydrate my own stuff and would like to make a creamy tomato soup.

I don't want to use a tomato leather it does not last very long.

I did that but no luck with tomato or mushroom without using dried tomato leathers.

Here's some links for you. Basically on the creamed soups you can look at a recipe and substitute in stuff like powdered milk, powdered butter, etc. for the normal ingredients and then use dehydrated or freeze dried veggies to add in. I imagine that the meats would work good too.

In the first link he makes a cream of tomato soup. For the tomato part you use Tomato Powder. The second link has several recipes for soups including a Cream of Mushroom. There is also a recipe for a Cream Soup Base. You can make this base and then add mushrooms or rice or what ever to get different Cream Soups.

The other links are ones for places that I know carry Tomato Powder and Mushrooms. The place in the last link carries not only sliced normal old Button Mushrooms, but several different gourmet mushrooms and Porcini Mushroom Powder. You could use a variety of the mushrooms and then add some of the powder for an extra flavor boost and probably end up with one hell of a good soup. They also carry several powders such as cheese powders, wine powders, butter and buttermilk powder, soy sauce, teriyaki, etc. along with veggies too.
