I'd be interested in seeing how you mounted your auxiliary batteries if you'd be inclined to take a picture or two. I wound up putting my solenoid in the same place as you, but ran a long cable to the truck bed for my 2nd battery. Lights look good in back - what kind are they?

Love the little bunk for your young'un, great idea!

Glad you're enjoying your Tundra, they are a sweet ride
I will try and get a better picture next time I have the bed out. You can kind of see in the 6th picture I have posted there is a group 29 battery in a battery box in front of both wheel wells. The fit is snug and there is a 1x2 across the center of each battery to hold it down. They don't seem to move at all and are in a space I wouldn't use otherwise in my setup.

YotaPilot your not missing anything. I plan on leaving the fridge on full time in the vehicle. During the week it often sits 3 or 4 days without being driven. I thought the Edgestar being larger and less efficient would push that to the max. Now that I have the 50qt ARB I really don't think it would have been an issue but the batteries were already purchased and installed.

    Nice Ride!
Like the simplicity of your dual setup, more info on the solenoid your using and its setup would be cool.
I have my small seat removed too, and put the arb there regularly. Never miss it (except if im voted in to do a school kid haul)
    Front bumper is next?

Zidaro sorry for the slow response, the solenoid is from NAPA and is a continuos duty dual battery solenoid. I am sorry I don't have more specific info on the solenoid but I remember searching for it on Napa's website and finding a local store that had it in stock. It was $79 a year ago. Now for my Elementary description of how my setup works, sorry, no high tech wizardry here. The solenoid has 2 posts to attach the positive terminals of your batteries to. The solenoid either isolates or connects the positive terminals of the 2 batteries. Its natural state is disconnected. The wire on the solenoid is the trigger that when powered connects the terminals. I found a terminal in the fuse box that is only hot when the ignition is on and wired the trigger to it. That way when the ignition is on the positive terminals are connected and the Aux. batteries can be charged by the alternator. Shut off the truck Aux. batteries are isolated. I installed the system over a year ago and it flat works with no thought process on my part. I have checked the batteries with a volt meter and the Aux batteries stay topped off from driving. When camping, the the house batteries slowly drop while the starting battery shows full. It is important to run large wire when connecting the batteries to allow enough juice over the long runs to the back of the truck and vs versa for charging and or emergency starting off the Aux. Batteries.

There is a ton of info on this site about dual battery hookups. I found most solutions to be far more complicated and much more expensive. I stumbled across a post detailing the method I used, and while not as flexible as most setups, it works for me.

I am hoping to do the bumper this fall
