I'm open to finding an aftermarket set. My goal is to not get too far from stock, but a slightly more aggressive tire on a 15" or 16" rim.

Well, did you ever get a chance to try the Tacoma spare to see if it worked?

I'll admit I'm new to all this, but I wonder why it wouldn't be a simple matter of using a wheel spacer that also acts as a bolt pattern adaptor. I've seen these conversion spacers used in a variety of different applications...why not the OEM Montero to, say, a generic Toyota for which there are a wide array of aftermarket steelies?

I'd be a little worried it may be weaker than the OE hub but other than that, it may in fact work ok. I know I use them on the front of my Audi.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I saw this picture... wondering if maybe he machined a set of land cruiser wheels to fit? These look like 80 series cruiser OEM wheels.

Also, I found these listed for a Sequoia. I wonder what the center bore is...

This site lists 01 and up Sequoia as 108mm center bore.

While looking for steel NATO or Toyota style OEM for my Monty, I ran across this old thread.

Found these utilitarian beauties, anyone know if the new Montero pattern and spacing is compliant with a Gen II?

From what I've read, the Toyota steels won't fit without spacers. But yes, they look just about identical.

Sort of difficult to tell from small photo, but the center bore looks much smaller than 108mm.
