Bad all bad, keep looking, but that's just my opinion, I haven't seen one break 80 or 90k yet, some cooling system design flaw, Google is your friend

It seems that the problem is...when the engine or trans die...and they will...there are No Replacements Available. Period.

A client bought one four or five years ago. I told him that he'd better keep a close eye on coolant and trans fluid.

Trip to a football match - the kind with the funny round ball - four little kids in the car - POOF! all the coolant and all the trans fluid were lying on the road.
    Don't worry, you're biodegradable.

Times 2, I'm afraid. I looked into these extensively, liking the size, styling and the reasonable price. But, good grief, what a litany of problems and negative comments. Scared me off, for sure . . . and I don't scare that easily.

There's a reason you don't see many Freelanders/LR2s on the road that are older than the current model year...

LR2s are a complete different model ?? Than a freelander in the US anyways.
